AUDREY HOBERT JOINS CHERRY LANE THEATRE’S RED DOOR REOPENING LINEUP WITH SHOW ON SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 13
September 4, 2025—Fast-rising popstar Audrey Hobert joins Cherry Lane Theatre’s Red Door Reopening for a live performance on Saturday, September 13 at 8:00pm ET. Tickets go on sale today at 11:00am ET at CherryLaneTheatre.org.
‘RED DOOR REOPENING’ WEEK SET FOR SEPTEMBER 8TH - 14TH WITH ONE-NIGHT ONLY
PERFORMANCES AND EVENTS FEATURING THEATER, COMEDY, MUSIC AND FILM
Audrey’s highly anticipated debut album, Who’s the Clown?, was released last month to critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, NPR, NYLON, W Magazine, Cosmopolitan and more. Audrey is a one woman show—writing songs, directing and editing videos, fully realizing all aspects of her music from start to finish. The album represents the exploration of her own creative vision, as it is the first collection of songs that she ever wrote for herself after her first taste of songwriting on Gracie Abrams’ The Secret of Us.
Cherry Lane Theatre’s Red Door events will officially reopen the theatre’s iconic red doors to the public with a week of one-night-only special performances and events featuring award-winning artists Spike Lee, Jerrod Carmichael, Malcolm Gladwell, Brandi Carlile, Michael Shannon, Sofia Coppola, Jodie Foster and more from Monday, September 8th through Sunday, September 14th. The line-up showcases the curatorial expansion of The Cherry Lane Theatre, inclusive of comedy, music and film.
The full ‘Red Door Reopening’ week of events includes:
○ Monday, September 8th - a film screening of 25th Hour and Q&A with Spike Lee
○ Tuesday, September 9th - staged reading of True West featuring Michael Shannon, Paul Sparks, Marylouise Burke, and directed by Lila Neugebauer
○ Wednesday, September 10th - a night of comedy with Jerrod Carmichael
○ Thursday, September 11th - Malcolm Gladwell and Brandi Carlile in conversation
○ Saturday, September 13th - Audrey Hobert live performance

The week will conclude on Sunday, September 14th with a block party along the theater’s Commerce Street block in Greenwich Village for its neighbors and the public from 3-6pm.
Purchased in 2023, the 166-seat theatre has undergone a multi-year renovation with all of its technical equipment having been updated, new seating installed, film projector and screen installed, and the lobby upgraded. As it was once a beloved dining destination, a new addition to the space brings back that tradition with Wild Cherry, a new bar restaurant from Lee Hanson and Riad Nasr, the team behind Frenchette, Le Rock, and Le Veau d’Or, who were recently named Outstanding Restaurateur by the James Beard Awards. The theatre’s iconic stage and historic details remain intact.
