JUSTIN TOWNES EARLE’S NOTHING’S GONNA CHANGE THE WAY YOU FEEL ABOUT ME NOW OUT NOW TO CRITICAL ACCLAIM

“There are echoes of Guthrie and Springsteen, but at 28, Earle’s clear, considered voice is clearly his own.”—The Guardian UK

Nothing’s Gonna Change the Way You Feel About Me Now, the new record from celebrated singer-songwriter Justin Townes Earle, is out now to widespread critical acclaim (Bloodshot Records). Of the music, USA Today declares, “…superb…leaves you wanting more,” while the Associated Press heralds, “Always a gifted songwriter and guitarist, Earle deals with the consequences of his actions with an album of self-examining songs set to low-key yet lush arrangements featuring somber brass accents. His voice remains packed with emotion and personality, but it has more range and takes more risks, as he whispers, slurs and moans like a midnight caller.” In celebration of the release, Earle recently performed on the "Late Show with David Letterman” and, this month, will embark on a nationwide headlining tour, including dates at New York’s Webster Hall (May 17) and Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium (June 2). See below for complete details.

Produced by Earle alongside longtime collaborator Skylar Wilson, the 10-track album was recorded completely live with no overdubs over a 4-day period at an old converted church recording studio in Asheville, NC. Of the new record, Earle comments, “I think that it’s the job of the artist to be in transition and constantly learn more. The new record is completely different than my last one, Harlem River Blues. This time I’ve gone in a Memphis-soul direction.”

The new album is Earle’s fourth release and follows his critically acclaimed 2010 album, Harlem River Blues, which debuted #47 on the Billboard Top 200 chart and led to a “Song of the Year” award at the 2011 Americana Music Awards. Since his debut in 2008, Earle has toured consistently including performances at the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Fest, the Grand Ole Opry, Carnegie Hall, the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival and the Newport Folk Festival as well as appearances on "The Late Show with David Letterman and "A Prairie Home Companion.” Additionally, Earle won “Best New and Emerging Artist” at the 2009 Americana Music Awards and was named by GQ magazine as one of “The 25 Most Stylish Men in the World” in 2010. He also appeared on HBO’s Treme with his dad, troubadour Steve Earle, on whose Grammy Award-winning record Townes, Earle also guests.
