Acclaimed Canadian singer-songwriter Lindi Ortega continues to receive praise for her debut full-length Little Red Boots, available now on Last Gang Records. The highly lauded album has been nominated for two Juno Awards for Best New Artist and Best Roots & Traditional Album (solo). Additionally, Ortega will support Social Distortion on their North American tour this spring. Ortega, who is now residing in Nashville, is currently touring throughout Europe. The Sunday Times comments she “fits the ‘undiscovered gem’ role to a T,” and France’s Les Inrockuptibles calls the latest release “the first big record of 2012.” She has toured extensively including a cross-Canada run as the opening act for the U.K. band  Keane and with Brandon Flowers, the lead singer of The Killers. Of her live performance, the Chicago Sun Times notes, “[her] ebullient personality and powerful voice make for a striking presence,” while Pittsburgh Tribune Review adds, “ [she] stands out.” See below for tour dates.

Ortega recorded Little Red Boots with Juno Award winning producer Ron Lopata. CBC Radio explains her style as “a dash of country, a pinch of folk, a sprinkle of rock, and a smidgeon of jazz”—a genre Ortega explains as “a roadside motel love affair between old school outlaws and country darlings.”

The new album follows Ortega’s 2009 four-song EP The Drifter that Toronto’s Eye Weekly called, “The perfect EP” and “A terrific teaser.” Lindi recently partnered with CMT.com and CMT Mobile to premiere her latest music video for the song “Black Fly”: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Csc21rcF6E.
