NICK MULVEY’S HIGHLY ANTICIPATED ALBUM WAKE UP NOW OUT NOW VIA HARVEST RECORDS

VIDEO FOR “MOUNTAIN TO MOVE” DEBUTS

NORTH AMERICAN TOUR DATES CONFIRMED

Acclaimed British musician Nick Mulvey ’s highly anticipated new album, Wake Up Now, is out now via Harvest Records. The new music is receiving widespread critical acclaim—Clash hails, “it’s a breathless return, one packed with fresh ideas and new directions,” while Paste adds, “His music intertwines traditional African styles with more modern folk music. His music is heavily acoustic in nature, as well as being lyrical, simply melodic and story-oriented.” Wake Up Now is available for purchase at http://bit.ly/2wmu7XV.

Additionally, Mulvey debuts the official music video for his track “Mountain To Move.” You can watch/share it here: https://nickmulvey.lnk.to/MTMVYT

In support of the release, Mulvey will play select North American headline tour dates in November with stops in New York, Los Angeles, Nashville, San Francisco, Philadelphia and more. Tickets are available now at nickmulvey.com. See below for complete tour details.

Wake Up Now
, an album rooted in conscience, was produced by Ethan Johns at Real World Studio’s who recorded Mulvey and his band live and at their most raw to reinforce that key community spirit. That sense of community was further drilled home by Brian Eno, who in a few pre-recording sessions implored Mulvey to open up more and consider sharing the workload. The idea of opening himself up has filtered into Mulvey’s lyrics: once swathed in metaphor upon metaphor, they’re now at the heart of this record’s identity. Watch the video for “Unconditional” here and “Myela” (inspired by the refugee crisis as a real desire to help) here.

Wake Up Now is the first new music from Mulvey since his 2014 Mercury Prize-nominated debut, First Mind. First Mind received widespread critical praise—Rolling Stone hailed it as “One of this year’s finest new releases…Sophisticated and intricate stuff; Mulvey sounds like a major player in the making, and as introductions go, this is fine indeed.” The Guardian furthered, “His album mixes traditional and experimental, acoustic and electronic to pull unexpected rabbits out of hats,” and The Line of Best Fit added it’s “a total package of pop hooks, instrumental genius and gorgeous rhythms.”
