TOUR DATES CONFIRMED

“…Mr. Keen is one of the best.” —The New York Times

“There’s nobody in Texas who can tell a story like Robert Earl Keen.” —Acoustic Guitar

Ready For Confetti, the latest outing from legendary songwriter and storyteller Robert Earl Keen, is available now on Lost Highway. Released to widespread critical acclaim, the new recording is praised by Popmatters as “professional and slick” calling Keen “what a country artist should be,” while Paste Magazine applauds it as “an album that works on its own terms.” The new release, which is currently #3 on the Americana Music Chart, follows his praised 2009 The Rose Hotel which USA Today heralded as, “one of the best.” Keen will support the record with a North American tour this fall (full details on below).

Ready For Confetti
is the 16th studio album from Keen in a celebrated career that spans 30+ years. The new recording was produced by Lloyd Maines (Dixie Chicks, Flatlanders), who also produced The Rose Hotel, and is hailed by Denver Post as “ushering in a new era of his career while still paying tribute to his beginnings.” The record is a departure for Keen with its shorter song lengths, atypical song themes and Keen’s method of songwriting. “I always said that I never write on the road,” says Keen, who wrote nine of the album’s songs and co-wrote another with Dean Dillon. “I threw certain formulas totally out the window because I just don’t always believe in convention as the best way to serve your purpose as far as singing songs that people enjoy however, on this one I stuck to more concise ideas, more universal themes and more sing-able melodies. Consequently, it has somewhat more of a conventional sound than any of my records.”

Keen is considered a pioneer in the world of Americana music as he began performing in 1981 and has toured extensively throughout most of his career creating a loyal and extensive fan base. His music is described by NPR as “a blend of acoustic folk balladry and raucous barroom country.”
