The xx to play two intimate shows at Washington, D.C.’s 9:30 Club July 26 and 27

Headlining Los Angeles’ FYF and New York’s Panorama Festival this summer

The xx are set to play a pair of intimate shows at Washington, D.C.’s 9:30 Club this summer on July 26 and 27, between their headlining sets at FYF in Los Angeles and Panorama in New York. The dates are the band’s first in the U.S. since their wildly successful I See You tour last fall.

Fan presales begin tomorrow, May 1 at 10 a.m. local time, with tickets on sale to the public this Thursday, May 3 at 10 a.m. local time. The band has again partnered with Plus 1 to contribute $1 from each ticket sale to a local charity.

Released in January 2017, The xx’s third album I See You debuted at #1 in the UK and #2 in the U.S., and overall is The xx’s biggest worldwide chart success to date. Equally lauded by the critics, I See You was nominated for the 2017 Mercury Prize. It follows in the footsteps of the band’s previous two albums—2009’s xxand 2012’s Coexist—which have now sold over three million copies between them. The album marks a new era for Romy Madley Croft, Oliver Sim and Jamie Smith, both sonically and in terms of process. While xx and Coexist were both made in relative isolation in London, I See You was recorded between March 2014 and August 2016 in New York, Marfa, TX, Reykjavik, Los Angeles and London and is characterized by a more outward-looking, open and expansive approach. Produced by Jamie Smith and Rodaidh McDonald, I See You is The xx at their boldest, performing with more clarity and ambition than ever before.

In the twelve months following the album’s release, The xx embarked on an extensive I See You world tour that saw them performing to millions of fans, including festival headline appearances and a record breaking run of seven nights at London’s legendary Brixton Academy in front of over 35,000 hometown fans.
