Breakout star Tory Lanez caps off a banner year with two new mixtapes, The New Toronto 2 and Chixtape 4, out now. Download both at thenewtoronto2.com

Lanez, who played more than 200 shows in 2016, is nominated for Best R&B Song for his Platinum-certified smash “LUV” at the 59th Annual GRAMMY Awards.

“LUV” was produced by Benny Blanco and Cashmere Cat and reached #1 on both Urban and Rhythmic radio charts this year. The track is taken from Lanez’ critically acclaimed debut album I Told You, which reached #4 on the Billboard 200 upon its release in August with the highest first week sales of a debut urban artist this year. I Told You is out now on Mad Love/Interscope Records. Stream the album here and download here.

I Told You continues to receive critical acclaim:

“Hitmaking may be the new normal for the Toronto singer/rapper…he’s ready to out-perform any artist in his age-group onstage…” —Rolling Stone

“Tory is a heartthrob on the rise. It’s not rare to hear his pleading vocals floating out of cars and bleeding from strangers’ headphones on the subway.” —The Fader

“Tory has a knack for keeping it real, and he's showing no signs of slowing down.” —Teen Vogue

“…one of the hip-hop world’s buzziest names.” —Billboard

“Lanez can rap or sing with equal ease, and on his recently released major-label debut, I Told You, he shows a keen sense of other modern trends…” —Vogue

“One of the defining albums of the late summer” —The Guardian

“He’s built a reputation for having an honest, upfront personality that shines through in his emotive lyricism and willingness to experiment with everything from dancehall pop to reggae and R&B.” —NYLON

“He’s achieved, but he’s only getting started.” —Complex

“I Told You has every right to resonate with such insistent grandeur.” —Hot New Hip Hop

“The Toronto native is a bad boy who knows how to turn edgy subject matter into melodic—and dare I say, beautiful—songs…It is because of his storytelling chops that I think of Lanez as an urban griot of sorts—he tells it
how it is and he keeps it real.” —SF Weekly

Lanez’s massively successful debut single ”Say It,” also featured on I Told You, is now certified RIAA Platinum after peaking at #1 on both the Rhythmic and Urban radio charts.
