BJÖRK’S “WANDERLUST” 3-D VIDEO TO BE FEATURED DURING NATIONAL RECORD STORE DAY

 


The highly anticipated 3-D video version for Björk’s latest single “Wanderlust” will have its nationwide debut as part of National Record Store Day on April 19. During the inaugural event, music retailers nationwide will join together to celebrate and recognize the value and unique culture of independent record stores.As part of the day, over 300 stores will offer special events and giveaways including the distribution of 10,000 3-D glasses for customers to view “Wanderlust” on in-store kiosks and at home. In addition to Björk’s contribution, other artists including Metallica, Steve Earle and Interpol will participate in the day with signings and performances at various local record stores.

The 2-D version of the “Wanderlust” music video debuted on Yahoo! Music and has quickly spread across the Internet on music, design and news sites. Additionally the New York Times streamed the video on their homepage along with exclusive interviews from Björk and the directors, Encyclopedia Pictura. Of the video, Pitchfork says, “Looks awesome…poised to give her most celebrated visual showstoppers a run for their money.” Exclusive screenings of the 3-D video have taken place in New York and L.A.; however, National Record Store Day will be the first opportunity for fans nation-wide to experience it.

“Wanderlust” is the latest groundbreaking single from Björk’s Grammy-nominated release Volta. Included in the single’s limited edition package is the 3-D DVD and glasses along with two double heavy 12” vinyl records and a CD of remixes by Matthew Herbert, Mark Stent and Ratatat. This special packaging is part of Björk’s single series, which also includes the tracks “Innocence,” “Earth Intruders,” “Declare Independence” and “The Dull Flame of Desire.”
