Following the 2007 release of her live concert DVD, Nights from the Alhambra, and less than a year after successful 2007 North American and European tours, Loreena McKennitt is once again returning to concert halls and outdoor stages in Europe.

The “Live in Concert 2008” summer tour will take her to a number of European countries, including Germany, Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Spain. The tour begins June 27 in The Hague and ends August 3 in Belgium.  

The tour includes performances at a number of major outdoor festivals, as well as in concert halls

“We were thrilled that last year’s European tour was so successful,” said McKennitt. “Since so many of our concerts were sold out we were anxious to go back, particularly in the summer when we can perform outdoors and take part in some of the best European festivals.”

This is McKennitt’s second European tour in two years, and she’ll be performing songs that span her recording career, including music from the award-winning An Ancient Muse, which has sold more than half a million copies worldwide since its release in November 2006.

In a recording career spanning two decades, McKennitt has won worldwide critical acclaim and gold, platinum and multi-platinum awards in 15 countries across four continents. She has won numerous awards including the Billboard International Achievement Award and two Juno Awards.
