BRIAN TEASLEY JOINS TVG HOSPITALITY AS SENIOR OPERATIONS MANAGER
With the acquisition, tvg is committed to bolstering the legacy that Teasley and his team have already built at Saturn, which has welcomed artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, Pussy Riot, Japanese Breakfast, Earl Sweatshirt, Animal Collective, Vince Staples, Waxahatchee, Beach House and Big Boi since opening its doors in 2015. tvg will also help develop Saturn’s Satellite Bar, which operates year-round with a bespoke beverage program as well as all-day coffee and pastry service from Birmingham’s Domestique Coffee Roasters.
Of the partnership, Teasley shares, “I believe that having great music venues is a genuine cultural determinant for the quality of life in any city. I sincerely can’t think of a better example of a group bringing so much positive energy to a community than what hvg has accomplished in Huntsville. It has never been lost on me that we are ambassadors for the communities in which we exist and we are here to enrich the lives of the people who come into our spaces. Our mission at Saturn has always been to bring artists and patrons together in the best environment possible and I am incredibly excited to go even further on this journey with the hvg team.”
Additionally, Managing Director of hvg, Ryan Murphy shares, “Throughout the years, the work that Brian Teasley has done for the underground music scene in Alabama has reverberated throughout the country. Any project and venue that he has been part of has always been steeped with a reputation that puts tremendous emphasis on the artist experience, not cutting corners and always doing the right thing to make sure everyone has the best experience possible. For the last 5 years, Saturn has been the ‘must play’ venue of its size in Alabama and I couldn’t be prouder to be joining forces with Brian and the Saturn to do great things for music in this state.”
The acquisition is just the latest endeavor for tvg in the United States, following the grand opening of Huntsville’s Orion Amphitheater last May, which is nominated for New Concert Venue of the Year at tonight’s Pollstar Awards. In addition to the nomination, the Orion also won the 2022 Partnership in Tourism Award from the Alabama Tourism Department and Attraction of the Year from the Alabama Mountain Lakes Association. Additionally, Lovett was recently selected as one of VenuesNow’s Top 2022 All-Star Executive Honorees, which celebrates stand-out leaders across entertainment and sports.
Committed to connecting culture and community, all tvg venues feature elevated hospitality offerings with local character to enhance experiences for both artists and fans. tvg has created and manages one-of-a-kind destinations in London—Southwark Quarter, Goods Way and The Social—with additional projects underway in Washington, DC, Nashville, TN, Detroit, MI and Austin, TX. Further establishing their roots in the Alabama music scene, tvg will also support Huntsville’s historic Tip Top Café with their reopening this year. Additional details to come.
